About Taha Hamid
Taha Hamid is a respected Islamic scholar, Imam, Khateeb, and media figure whose life has been dedicated to the study, teaching, and propagation of Islam. Born in Kabul, Afghanistan and raised in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, he developed a deep connection with the Qur’an and Islamic sciences from an early age.
He memorized the Holy Qur’an at a young age in Masjid Al-Haram, Makkah, graduating as a top honors student in his Qur’an class. He later served for several years as a teacher of Qur’an and Tajweed in Masjid Al-Haram, a role that reflects both his scholarly excellence and the trust placed in him by the sacred institution.
Taha Hamid completed his high school education at King Abdul-Aziz High School in Makkah and pursued advanced Islamic studies in Saudi Arabia. Deeply grounded in the Qur’an and the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), he strongly believes in preserving traditional Islamic knowledge while addressing contemporary challenges faced by Muslim communities in the West.
Currently based in Dallas, Texas, he actively works in the field of Islamic Da‘wah across the United States. He is widely known as the Host and Founder of the television program “Islam in the West”, broadcast every Wednesday at 11:00 AM (local time) on Ariana Afghan TV from Los Angeles, California. Through this platform, he addresses faith, identity, and social issues affecting Muslims living in Western societies.
In addition to his media work, Taha Hamid has published Islamic articles and books, produced educational lecture CDs and DVDs on various Islamic topics, and is recognized nationwide as a well-known Imam and Khateeb. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Islamic Philosophy from GTF in Indiana, USA.
Alongside his scholarly and public work, Taha Hamid is a devoted family man, married and blessed with two sons, Bahij and Munib. His life reflects a balance of scholarship, leadership, community service, and personal integrity, making him a trusted voice in Islamic education and outreach.
